Hi Everyone! This is me, Dara Adedara
Born a child of two Nigerian immigrants who are pastors, Dara grew up in the church. Every Sunday, Dara found herself in front of large crowds, whether singing in the church choir or dancing on the praise team. Dara built a strong love of performing, bringing her to where she is today.
Throughout high school, Dara thought the only way to tell stories was to play a character in them. Through her studies as a major in Theatre with an Acting Emphasis and minor in Entertainment Industry at the renowned School of Cinematic Arts, Dara has widened her creative scope. She has begun taking on roles behind the camera.
Thus came Fifth Floor Studios, a production company created by Dara and her friends at USC. Dara has now been a part of multiple projects where she has produced, assistant-produced, executive produced, directed, and created. Dara hopes to continue to tell more stories, specifically Black stories, that we don’t get to see every day.
During the summer of 2022, Dara interned for the Television Academy Foundation as a Casting intern at Kim Coleman Casting. Being able to see Kim’s role in bringing Black stories to life has been one of the greatest blessings and inspirations that the internship has given her.
While Dara’s main focus always has been and always will be acting, she looks forward to creating new Black stories that can speak to an entire audience from all sides of the industry.
